Airlie offers a 9-passenger Accessibility Tram to guests needing assistance traveling through the garden. Tram Volunteers will go through a tram-training course and are also given the option to learn more about the history, horticulture and ecology of Airlie. Drivers are not required to give guided tours, they are mostly available for accessibility, but are welcome to provide as much knowledge to guests as they desire. Trams run on a continuous designated path through the garden. Most volunteer tram shifts are 2-3 hours long. Tram drivers must have a valid NC driver’s license and must be 25 years or older.
