New Hanover County Resident Free Day

The first Sunday of each month, New Hanover County residents, students and employees are admitted to Airlie Gardens FREE of charge! TICKETS MUST BE RESERVED IN ADVANCE, and can sell out. Valid ID or proof of residency must be shown upon arrival. One New Hanover County ID is valid for 2 adults and accompany children. Additional adults must purchase general admission tickets. Once Free Day tickets are sold out, guests without pre-reserved tickets are not guaranteed entry to the garden on Free Day. Airlie members do not need to reserve in advance; simply show your membership card upon arrival. If you have additional guests outside of your membership benefits, they will need to reserve tickets in advance.

Once Free Day tickets are sold out, only Airlie Members, and those who have pre-purchased general admission tickets or pre-reserved NHC Free Day tickets are guaranteed entry on Free Day due to limited parking. Airlie members simply show their membership card upon arrival. If you have additional guests outside of your membership benefits, they will need to reserve tickets in advance.
There are limited number of Free Day tickets available due to limited onsite parking. Once Free Day tickets are sold out, guests without tickets are not guaranteed entry. New Hanover County Residents may not just show up to the gardens without a reserved ticket and expect free admission once advertised as sold out.
