FrogWatch USA Workshop

Wednesday, February 5th | 10am – 4pm &
Friday, February 7th | 2 – 5pm

About the Program

Become a FrogWatch volunteer!  The NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher and New Hanover County Parks & Gardens invites you to a FREE volunteer training workshop at Airlie Gardens.

By attending this FREE 2-day training, you will learn to identify local frog and toad species by their calls. Then you can contribute to scientific research by reporting species you hear during listening sessions. No previous scientific background or knowledge of amphibians is required. FrogWatch USA is a citizen science project for anyone with a heart for wildlife and a desire to protect it.

Day 1 will conclude with a simple knowledge assessment. Participants will become FrogWatch USA volunteers. Please bring a waste-free lunch and reusable water bottle.
Day 2 will provide practice of FrogWatch USA protocols and call listening.
(Youth 10 and up are welcome with an adult who will also complete volunteer training)
